Apr 19, 2018Jeremias, 66, passed away Friday, April 13, 2018, at Mary Lanning HealthCare in Hastings, NE.Memorial service is 10:00 am, Thursday, April 19, 2018, at First St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hastings, NE with Pastor Joel Remmers officiating. In honoring his wish to be cremated there is no viewing or visitation. DeWitt Funeral Home and Cremation Services is handling arrangements.Memorials may be directed to the family for a later designation.Condolences can be left at www.dewittfuneral.com.Gary A. Jeremias was born October 31, 1951, in Hastings, Nebraska the son of Harvey and Nina Mae (Parratt) Jeremias. He graduated from Hastings High School with the class of 1969. Gary married Ruth Meyer on June 4, 1971, at First St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hastings, NE. He worked for Westland Homes as a carpenter, and for Hastings Utilities from where he retired in 2002. Gary was a member of Four Rivers Gun Club and the NRA. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Gary enjoyed puttering around in the garage, camping, and welding. He was a very creative metal worker. Gary cherished spending time with his grandkids and fishing/hunting trips with his children, brother, and nephew. He believed being in the outdoors and enjoying God's creation was as close to God as you can get.Gary is survived by his wife, Ruth Jeremias of Hastings, NE; children, Tracy (Steven) Schrock of Hastings, NE, Troy (Prota) Jeremias of St. James, MO, and Todd (Christine) Jeremias of Southerland, NE; eleven grandchildren, Jacob Schrock, (significant other, Carly), Sarah (Fiancé, Jordon), Brendan Nierman, Nathaniel Schrock, Alex Schrock, Layne Jeremias, Jaydon Jeremias, Hayli Jeremias, Emily Jeremias, Ashley Jeremias, and Landon Jeremias; sister, Melissa (Dale) Woodard of Roseland, NE; brother, Paul (Joann) Jeremias of Willow, AK; sister-in-law, Dusty Thedford of Fairfield, NE; brother-in-law, John (Ramona) Meyer of Grants Pass, OR; best friend/brothers, Jim (Judy) Kissinger and Dick (Kathy) LeBeau all of Hastings, NE; along with numerous nieces and nephews.He was p...
